Summary	$db1= DB::getDB('seconddb');
Description	<p>I found this doesn't work, connection times out. Changing DB class contruct from this:</p> <p>if(!is_array($config)){<br />                $this->_pdo = new PDO('mysql:host=' .<br />                    Config::get($config[0].'/host') .';dbname='.<br />                    Config::get($config[0].'/db') . ';charset=utf8',<br />                    Config::get($config[0].'/username'),<br />                    Config::get($config[0].'/password'),<br />                    $opts);<br />                }else{</p> <p>to this:</p> <p>if(!is_array($config)){<br />                $this->_pdo = new PDO('mysql:host=' .<br />                    Config::get($config.'/host') .';dbname='.<br />                    Config::get($config.'/db') . ';charset=utf8',<br />                    Config::get($config.'/username'),<br />                    Config::get($config.'/password'),<br />                    $opts);<br />                }else{</p> <p>fixes the issue and I can get now connect to two databases by just including connection details in the init array.</p> <p> </p>

Yours didn't work because it was supposed to be an array.  The new DB class will have 4 ways to interact with multiple dbs.  DB::getDB(['otherDBname']; These are the methods available in UserSpice 5.1.5 and later //Default Database $test = $db->query("SELECT id,username FROM users ORDER BY id desc")->first(); dump($test);   //Second DB on same server with same credentials listed in the old way as an array $db2 = DB::getDB(['514']); $test = $db2->query("SELECT id,username FROM users ORDER BY id desc")->first(); dump($test);   //Third DB on same server with same credentials listed as a string $db3 = DB::getDB('hda'); $test = $db3->query("SELECT id,username FROM users ORDER BY id desc")->first(); dump($test);   //Fourth DB on same server with same credentials listed in the old way as an array $db4 = DB::getDB(['myotherdb','init']); $test = $db4->query("SELECT id,username FROM users ORDER BY id desc")->first(); dump($test);   //Fifth DB on any server with credentials passed as an array $db5 = DB::getDB(["127.0.0.1","pie","root",""]); $test = $db5->query("SELECT id,username FROM users ORDER BY id desc")->first(); dump($test);

Not sure I understand, mine was an array stored in config like this: $GLOBALS['config'] = array(     'mysql'      => array( 'host'         => 'localhost:3307', 'username'     => 'xxxxxx', 'password'     => 'xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx', 'db'           => 'xxxxxxx', ),     'seconddb'      => array( 'host'         => 'localhost:3307', 'username'     => 'xxxxxx', 'password'     => 'xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx', 'db'           => 'xxxxxx', ),     'thirddb'      => array( 'host'         => 'localhost:3307', 'username'     => 'xxxxx', 'password'     => 'xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx', 'db'           => 'xxxxxxxxxxxx', ),   If you have time, can you explain please.   Thanks
